The regulations regarding vehicle emissions have caused the manufacturing industry to develop cleaner and more efficient technologies. Some of the biggest modifications in the mobility industry in order to achieve these regulations are related to the drive-train system and the development of lighter structures. Although the global industry is moving from internal combustion engines (ICE’s) to electric vehicles (EV’s), the industry is expecting that some mix of both ICE’s and EV’s will still be manufactured for at least the next 10-20 years. Additionally, from an integral sustainable standpoint, switching to electrified mobility doesn´t nullify emissions reductions due to the use of fossil fuels to generate the energy used on vehicles.
The value chain of the mobility industry is looking for ways to develop and incorporate new technologies that complement the engine emission reduction efforts and help the overall industry achieve a more environmentally friendly vehicle fleet.
The Seeker is looking for technologies that are able to be embedded within the vehicle structures -chassis and body components-, either to their surface or within its structural profiles, to capture the remaining emissions of the drive-train system in order to meet or exceed environmental regulations.
This is an electronic Request-for-Partners (eRFP) Challenge; the Solver will only need to submit a written proposal to be evaluated by the Seeker with the goal of establishing a collaborative partnership.
